The Food Administration was one of many Wartime Agencies established during WWI. It was run by Herbert Hoover, and was responsible for increasing food production while reducing civilian consumption. It encouraged families to conserve food and grow it in personal gardens using the slogan "Food will win the war-- Don't waste it".
